Leeds United will play Luton Town on Saturday and John Brooks will be the referee in charge of the game, according to EFL, which was relayed by a Leeds fan.
Despite winning four out of the last six meetings between the sides, Leeds have only scored seven goals which is the exact same amount as Luton, meaning a 1-0 scoreline seems highly likely. These fans were a bit nervous about the referee in charge, due to the apparent bad omen.
Indeed, Brooks was the referee in charge of Leeds United’s 1-0 loss to Charlton Athletic at the Valley on the 28th of September, one of the Whites’ three losses.
Back to football on Saturday & the referee for the Luton Town match is John Brooks. No good omens for this one I’m afraid, our stats against London teams are diabolical & Brooks has already reffed our loss to Charlton this season. His stats for us – Reffed 3 Lost 3 ? #lufc pic.twitter.com/jNzGxoXZin

Optimistic myself. Only Michael O’Leary of Ryanair thinks Luton is in London

Hope our team doen’t have to rely too much on the ref. They just have to dominate and score a few straight goals then that should be it (wishful thinking I know )

The last red card in the meetings between the two teams came back in 2006, which is a game Leeds won 2-1.
We may aswell not turn up

What Do We Think?
The match doesn’t seem likely to be a goal-fest, however, we do still expect Leeds to walk away with three points, probably after a 1-0 win, given the Whites have struggled to find the back of the net on a regular basis so far this season (per WhoScored). The referee ‘omen’ should just be seen as coincidental and shouldn’t be taken too seriously by the fans, although we will see what happens on Saturday.
