Despite Eddie Nketiah failing to start in the Championship all season, some Leeds United fans are still concerned about the 20-year-old returning back to Arsenal.
Nketiah last played in the 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, which was a game where he got a solid 45 minutes of game time, but the 20-year-old is yet to play since.
His direct competition is an in-form Patrick Bamford, who has scored two goals in the last two fixtures, meaning he’s going to be very hard to push out the side.
Who do you prefer Nketiah or Bamford?
Eddie Nketiah
Patrick Bamford
Eddie Nketiah returns to training tomorrow but Patrick Bamford’s takedown of Matty Pearson at Luton was masterful and his goading of Reading’s fans last night showed how much he’s in the mood. The shirt feels like it’s his:https://t.co/hHsv2Mu2bp

Bamford’s scored 1 open goal in 13 games, we’re at serious risk of losing a very good striker due to stubbornness and a good number of fans are desperate to make out we should be happy with Bamford and give him more support?

I think Bielsa wants him to stay but out of his hands . He’s an Arsenal player and if they want him to get more experience and game time then he may need another club. There choice.

Just means Eddie Nketiah will most likely go back to Arsenal in January unfortunately Phil.
With Arsenal’s current situation i think it’s most likely he will go back.

Every team promoted from the championship always seems to have a 25 goal striker. Bamford will be nowhere near that.

The 20-year-old is very clinical, playing just 265 minutes in total, but still scoring three goals. A player like that can be very handy to have in the squad, so to lose him could be bad news.
@EST19XIX what you love to read on a Wednesday

In other words. Nkeitah is leaving in january. Let’s be straight here. Nobody dislikes bamford. But it could be a disaster if nkeitah goes to one of our rivals.

What Do We Think?
Maybe playing Nketiah and Bamford in a two-striker formation could be a solution? That way both players could get a fair amount of game time, which would hopefully result in Nketiah being able to stay. We would be very surprised if Arsenal actually used the 20-year-old, but even if he went out on loan to a rival, that would be a terrible situation for Leeds.
