Some Celtic fans are absolutely disappointed about the atmosphere at Celtic Park from their recent win over Rennes in the UEFA Europa League.
The Hoops made sure that they will finish their Europa League group at the top. It is something the club hadn’t done and the 3-1 win allowed them to make history.
Lewis Morgan started the game and got a goal for himself, while young Mikey Johnston also scored on his comeback from injury. Attacking midfielder Ryan Christie also chipped in with a goal for himself (BBC).
While the result was impressive, some Celtic fans are disgusted by the fact that the atmosphere was dull because of the Green Brigade Stand ban.
Is the Celtic Park atmosphere better with the Green Brigade in the stands?

Great result last night and good performance. Let’s get the green brigade back in ASAP and stop all the nonsense that’s went on this week. Atmosphere not the same without them.

The club had announced earlier this week that the Celtic Park will be without the support of the Green Brigade stand for the Rennes game. The reaction was mixed and the club revealed that previous offences were a reason for the ban.
After their recent 2-1 win over Lazio, the Hoops had faced a fine of £12,901 from UEFA because of offensive banners and chanting by the club’s fans against the Biancocelesti fans.
This was their third offence of the same kind, as the club had faced the same sort of fine for fan disturbances against AIK. In their home win over Cluj, the club had been fined after fans had set off flares.
What do we think?
It was a matter of a single game last night. The ban isn’t expected to go on and stretch onto the upcoming Old Firm derby against Rangers. And in a game that didn’t mean much in the larger scheme of things, it was a one-off and there should not be too much to worry about.
Celtic fans can only hope that the Green Brigade faithful can only learn from this lesson.
