Celtic fans are pleading with the club to sign Mohamed Elyounoussi on a permanent basis after the winger grabbed a goal in their 2-0 victory over St Mirren on Wednesday at Celtic Park.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan from Southampton along with Bhoys keeper Fraser Forster, with both being impressive in a Hoops shirt all season.
And that good form continued in Parkhead last night where the Norwegian grabbed Celtic’s first goal in the second half.
Fans took to Twitter in the aftermath of the game, calling for the club to do all they can to get the player to stay longer than just this season.
Can we keep Elyounoussi forever pls

That’s 5 goals for Elyounoussi by October. 1 less than Kent’s total for the whole of last season and he was seemingly a superstar. Looks like a very decent bit of business from Celtic .

Said it before, just offer Southampton whatever it is they want for Elyounoussi. Guy is a serious baller. His movement is unreal. He’s going to be vital for us winning the league this year.

Another goal for Elyounoussi tonight. Not his best performance but he looks like he’s capable of scoring goals even when he’s been quiet

What do we think?
Can Celtic do enough to prize Elyounoussi away from the Premier League strugglers? Only time will tell, although it is hardly a surprise that fans are cooling for the club to try and make it happen. The 25-year-old has been in top form for the Bhoys since arriving, having hit four goals and three assists in his eight appearances so far (Transfermarkt).
The Norwegian has been less public than fellow Southampton loanee Fraser Forster about his intentions to stay, but if the club can continue to ascend in the SPFL and Europa League then it might be an attractive option for the talented winger.
