Celtic may have beaten Hearts 2-1 to win the Scottish Cup on Saturday but they didn’t put in a performance that supporters would willingly watch again. However there were a handful of players who shone when others struggled, and one of these players was Jonny Hayes. The 31-year-old who played as a left-back against Hearts put in an excellent performance as he just kept running at his opposition. Hayes wouldn’t let Hearts have a minute’s rest and you have to wonder if Duracell are now considering making him their poster boy after such a performance. While the battery manufacturer may have missed Hayes’ display, at least it caught the eye of many Celtic fans on Twitter. Loads of Celtic fans heaped praise on Hayes and appeared to be blown away by his latest display. While it was nice to see one fan dub the player their Man of the Match, it was very sweet to see a Celtic fan hold their hands up and confess Hayes had proven them wrong. The 31-year-old is normally ripped apart by the Celtic faithful on social media during games due to being perceived as not up to standard, yet it seems Hayes converted a few non-believers on Saturday.
