Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas is plotting a summer move for Spurs winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, according to Football Insider.

The outlet claims that the Portuguese, who is set to be appointed manager of French giants Marseille, is ready to bring the 24-year-old back to the Stade Velodrome three years after he left.

The Frenchman has been out on loan once again at Ligue 1 side Monaco during the second half of the season, but hasn’t been able to reignite his stuttering career.

Villas-Boas clearly believes he is the man to rediscover the old Nkoudou.

Good move for Tottenham?

Any move that gets Nkoudou off the Spurs payroll is a good one, as all the club’s supporters will surely agree. That might sound slightly ruthless, but he’s just become a complete non entity in north London and has been for virtually his entire time with Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

He’s got talent, of course, but he’s simply never been able to put it all together in a white shirt. That’s a shame for him and for Spurs who spent decent money on him, but it’s time to cut your losses now.

If Villas-Boas believes he is the man who can get Nkoudou’s faltering career back on track then good luck to him. Tottenham should move the Frenchman on and see what he can accomplish back in Marseille.

Likely to happen?

It’s hard to say. There have been exit rumours surrounding Nkoudou before and he’s never actually been sold. It’s clear that Pochettino doesn’t want him, but his lacklustre performances with Spurs and during his loan spells have meant shifting him has been difficult.

However, with Villas-Boas seemingly keen to take a punt on the winger, this should conceivably be a fairly straightforward deal to do. Daniel Levy should take what he can get and sell the Tottenham misfit while he has a chance.
