COMMENTARY
Many Leeds fans despaired on Tuesday as the news they were dreading about Ezgjan Alioski was confirmed. Leeds’ official Twitter account revealed that the 27-year-old was set to miss the remaining games of the season as he had torn his meniscus in the loss to Brentford. While Alioski has often been Marmite amongst supporters as his performances range from being a 10/10 to a 0/10, it seems they were all singing from the same hymn sheet over this update. One fan claimed it was a huge blow for Leeds’ play-off chances, while another just claimed it was another example of things getting worse at Elland Road, likely reflecting on their side’s recent results. It’s fair to say that Alioski will be a noticeable miss for Marcelo Bielsa’s side as he has been a key member of the team. While at times his performances can make you want to tear your hair out, more often than not he has shone across his 46 outings this season.
