COMMENTARY
Ian Abrahams claimed that history showed Leeds United were running out of steam while on talkSPORT, but it seems many Whites supporters responded by showing some steam of their own. Several Leeds fans responded to the talkSPORT broadcaster’s claim to dismiss it, as Marcelo Bielsa side’s recent drop in form couldn’t be put down to tired legs in their eyes. One supporter even claimed that the stats went against Abrahams as Leeds had dominated their recent games even if they hadn’t got the right result. It’s easy to see where this fan was coming from as you just have to look at Leeds’ recent 2-1 loss to Wigan. Bielsa’s side dominated possession, they saw 77% of the ball (Source: BBC), and had 36 shots at goal. Those stats don’t suggest Leeds are a side running out of steam, they’re just a team who can’t finish their chances. With this in mind it’s no surprise that lots of Leeds fumed upon hearing Abrahams’ claim as he was barking up the wrong tree.
“History shows Marcelo Bielsa’s teams run out of steam, it’s happening now.”
“Leeds are stalling, you don’t want to go into the playoffs when you’re stalling.”
“I’d be worried if I was a Leeds fan.” ?@BroadcastMoose on #LUFC ?? pic.twitter.com/jozeatW8Zp

Disagree with us running out of steam. We dominated Sheff W and Preston only a couple of weeks ago and walked away with the points. Went behind twice vs Millwall and came away with the win. We're not clinical enough is the main thing and defensive errors have cost us past two.

It’s mad because they say that the teams ‘run out of steam’, but they rarely ever do. Even Marseille won their last 4 games in their ‘burn-out’

Not lost steam you muppet… just lacking clinical finishing. Steam is there, they aren’t tired. ?

How is this clown a journalist, he's just fishing as usual. You don't even have to watch the games…which I'm sure he hasnt. Stats back up Leeds haven't run out of steam,, they dominate games, however they also show why we're stalling, our finishing.

We haven't run out of steam at all… we just can't finish, every game we have been involved in we have pretty much battered teams.

We played very well against Sheff Wed on 13/04/2019, all of 10 days ago?Didn't hear anyone talking about "running out of steam" then?

Nothing to do with “running out of steam” players missing chances, thats it, end of!
