Jake Humphrey revealed he would be pleased to see Leeds United back in the Premier League and compared their promotion bid to Norwich City’s.

The BT Sport presenter heaped praise on Leeds for their loud fans, the club’s long history, their impressive manager Marcelo Bielsa and their exciting young squad.

Humphrey shared that he thought Leeds just like Norwich City, the team the presenter supports, were taking a different approach to winning promotion but that they were also doing everything right.

“I’d be pleased to see back in the top flight,” tweeted Humphrey on his verified account.

“Loud fans, bags of history, impressive manager, exciting young squad…big club.

“And like , doing it different, but doing it right. Good work .”

OPINION

It seems Humphrey believes Leeds deserve to be in the Premier League and is full of praise for the club. Leeds fans will no doubt love the presenters one-word description of them as he thinks they’re loud, and he’s right to think so as Leeds supporters are more than capable of getting Elland Road rocking. Bielsa’s side have used unorthodox methods to be well in the race for automatic promotion with games running out, and the club should be applauded for their approach. The manager’s current squad run like a well-oiled machine and the amount of young players getting opportunities is promising.  You feel that Leeds have many players already in their squad capable of making the step up to the Premier League, and hopefully that will fare them well if they do win promotion. This is because Fulham prove this season that if you sign too many players upon going up, the wheels can come off. It seems Humphrey is likely hoping that Leeds and Norwich go up automatically, which will leave Sheffield United in the play-off races, as he doesn’t exactly mention Chris Wilder’s side.
