COMMENTARY

Celtic went into the half-time break against Dundee with the scoreline 0-0 and many Hoops supporters proceeded to furiously slam referee Bobby Madden for his performance in the first-half. The referee opted to not award Celtic midfielder Scott Sinclair a penalty when he went down in the box and this caused a lot of the frustration. It’s debatable whether Sinclair should have been awarded a penalty but if the referee didn’t believe it was a foul, then surely the Celtic player should have been booked for diving. While some of Madden’s decisions were been debatable in the first-half, you feel a lot of the anger by Hoops fans about the senior figure below is a result of them just being frustrated with their team. Neil Lennon’s side have a fantastic record against Dundee but just didn’t seem to be at the races in the first-half. If the Hoops want to add another three points to the board, they need to up their game in the second half.
