Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jonathan Greening slammed the decision to part company with manager Darren Moore.

The 40-year-old, who played 196 times for the Baggies, took to his personal Twitter account to respond to his former side’s official statement which revealed that Moore had exited the club.

Greening claimed it was an embarrassing decision to make and stated that the Baggies’ owner hadn’t a clue about football.

“Absolutely embarrassing decision from an owner who hasn’t a clue about football,” tweeted the former player.

OPINION

Greening seems outraged that the Baggies have parted company with Moore and he’s definitely not alone in that feeling.  The Baggies drew 1-1 with bottom of the league Ipswich Town on Saturday but no one expected the club to instantly pull the rug from under their manager’s feet. While it’s true the Baggies have been in poor form as of late and their record at the Hawthorns is woeful, it was still a surprise. Moore leaves the Baggies when they’re sat fourth in the Championship and that leaves them in a very good position to at least make the play-offs this season. While Greening has slammed the decision, Baggies supporters should just look to the future now as the club aren’t going to back track. Given how quickly the club acted to part company with Moore, you feel that they already have a replacement lined up otherwise they’ve taken a huge risk by pushing their manager out the door.
