OPINION
Leeds United fans have an iffy relationship with Sky Sports, partly through what they feel is coverage biased against their team – untrue – and particularly through the musings of Keith Andrews, the pundit they love to hate. That intensified during ‘Spygate’ and also comments from the former Republic of Ireland international laying into Pontus Jansson. So, the Whites faithful were surprised and delighted at Tony Gales’ co-commentary on Sky of the 3-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night. The former West Ham defender was upbeat about Leeds’ performance and the quality of their player, adding his voice to those who believe Marcelo Bielsa’s side are excellent automatic promotion candidates. Following an excellent piece of late play at the Madejski Stadium, which ended with Patrick Bamford narrowly shooting wide, Gale even sang the Leeds fans’ chant about the striker. That went down a storm with United supporters on social media.
