OPINION
Leeds United fans’ ‘them and us’ mentality was given further encouragement today (Wednesday) after it was announced that the club’s fixture against QPR has been moved to Tuesday, 26 February as a result of the Londoners’ qualification for the FA Cup fifth round. Leeds announced the change on their official Twitter account today and it’s fair to say supporters are unhappy. Their beef is that the club now have to shoehorn three Championship matches in to just six days. The logjam for the Whites starts when they host Bolton on Saturday, 23 February and ends with West Brom coming to Elland Road on Friday, 1 March, with the QPR trip sandwiched in between. Supporters regard this as a “total joke” and “ridiculous”, and further evidence of the authorities’ eagerness to make life as difficult as possible for the automatic promotion hopefuls, with the match against West Brom already moved to accommodate live television coverage.
