Marcelo Bielsa’s Thursday media conferences should be an all-ticket affair, as they provide such great insight into what makes the most talked-about Championship manager tick. From revealing the team 48 hours before kick-off to delivering 17-minute answers, as he did yesterday, to who was to blame for Leeds United’s defeat to Norwich City last weekend (the long and short of it was Bielsa only pointed the finger at himself), much can be learned about what is going on at the division’s most fascinating club. Bielsa did not actually name his team this week for Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough, as trio Pablo Hernandez, Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich are all struggling with injury, But Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay re-listened to Bielsa’s slightly confusing team news segment a few hours afterwards and claimed eight of the team are nailed on. The headline news is that Patrick Bamford is set for his first league start, as he prepares to play in tandem with 14-goal leading scorer Kemar Roofe. This has thrilled many Leeds fans eager to see the forward duo in alliance for the first time from the start of a match.

Hopefully with Bamford and roofe both playing we won’t need 20 shots to score a goal!
