OPINION

Patrick Bamford has proved he has many strings to his bow after posting a brilliant response to a parody account in his name on Sunday night that delighted and amused Leeds United fans in equal measure. A social media account entitled Parody Bamford thanked supporters early on Sunday evening for their messages following the Leeds striker’s influential performance in the weekend win against Bolton Wanderers and claimed he would relax “with an hour of cello in the conservatory” while the dauphinoise potatoes cook. Bamford showed he is as quick of wit as he is of foot by replying to the parody account with the amusing response that he “actually” favours the violin, as he finds the “cello far too monotonous”.

Cue some foot-tapping and tune-humming responses from some of the Leeds faithful, with a number remarking how they want the £7million forward to hit the high note of scoring on Tuesday night against QPR and then celebrating by playing a mock violin. That would be his greatest personal hit since his chart-topping transfer from Middlesbrough last summer.
