OPINION

Leeds United head into the break at 1-1 against QPR in their third round FA Cup tie on Sunday afternoon, and surprisingly it is goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell who is winning all the plaudits from fans on Twitter. The young goalkeeper has become somewhat of a whipping boy for the Whites faithful this season with some uncertain displays and bad mistakes seeing him diminish in many fans’ estimations. In truth, mistakes are to be expected from such a young stopper, and it is actually admirable how far the 22-year-old has come to be Leeds’ number one goalkeeper at his age. His performance in that first half against QPR was indeed promising, with the Northern Ireland international making three really good saves to keep the Whites in it early on. He was unable to save QPR’s penalty but he cannot be blamed for that. It is nice to see him get some praise on Twitter for once, with fans usually ripping into him on social media after games.
