Since signing for Rangers in the summer transfer window, winger Eros Grezda has hardly set the Scottish Premiership alight.

His poor performances have certainly outweighed the good ones, and this will no doubt be of major concern for manager Steven Gerrard.

It is baffling to see the 23-year-old struggling so much, as fans would have noticed that his recent contributions have been minimal at best.

Yes, he only arrived in the summer, but a few months is more than enough time for a club to see if one of their signings is making the impact they were after when they were brought in.

There are only so many chances that Gerrard will continue to give him, but it is clear that he needs to start playing out of his skin to prevent being dropped from the starting XI after a series of horror shows.

Having a spot in the first team is not something which the Albania international should be taking for granted, as Gerrard will not be afraid to relegate players putting in zero effort to the bench or out of the squad completely.

Grezda has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, and this was no doubt done in a bid to gauge just how he is able to perform on a regular basis.

However, these selections seem to have backfired, and even BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has weighed in on the situation by branding the right-sided flyer a “disaster” in his column for the Daily Record.

Grezda now needs to step up to the plate and start playing out of his skin, otherwise the axe will drop. To be honest, it is fair to say that he is playing for his future at Rangers.

He has the potential to excel at a club like the Gers, so what could possibly be stopping him?

The club signed him in order to make an improvement on what they already had, but it seems to be the other way around at the moment.
