Celtic definitely need to bring a new centre-back to the club as soon as possible before the window shuts on January 31.

They have already made several signings in the shapes of Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo, but one signing that they should definitely prioritise is a defensive one.

This is why it makes complete sense to swoop for Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann, who according to Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones on Twitter, could possibly move to Fulham before the deadline.

The Hoops must get in on the act themselves by moving for the 31-year-old, as he is just the signing to complete Brendan Rodgers’ transfer puzzle.

Signing Dann swiftly would ensure that there is cover for Filip Benkovic when he returns to Leicester at the end of his loan spell this summer – without compromising on quality or experience.

He has made 200 appearances in the Premier League over the course of his career so far, and has played for the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City as well.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order this season, and as a result, has only made two outings this term, both of them coming in the FA Cup.

A player with this amount of experience should not be relegated to the sidelines any longer, and to be honest, the 6ft 2in [Transfermarkt] enforcer is probably in search of increased first team opportunities himself.

The amount of experience that he has under his belt would allow him to walk straight into Rodgers’ starting XI with ease, and he is a signing that would get the fans jumping for joy.

The Hoops must plot a raid for Dann as soon as possible, as he is just what they need.
