Celtic’s loan move for Borussia Dortmund defender Jeremy Tolijan should go through before the deadline, according to Goal journalist Ronan Murphy.

The reliable reporter shared via his personal Twitter account that the Hoops should succeed with their attempts to borrow the right-sided flyer’s service despite him training with Dortmund earlier.

The Daily Express’ Live Transfer Blog (Thursday January 31st, 6:04am) first reported Celtic as being interested in borrowing Tolijan until the end of the season and cited that an option to sign him permanently could be included in a deal.

Good move for Celtic?

Yes, Celtic need a right-back to arrive before the deadline.

Tolijan may have battled injuries this season and may have hardly featured as a result, but he can be a success for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Given that the 24-year-old can play as a right-back as well as left-back then he can certainly give Rodgers’ options on how to use him.

Also with it being a loan deal, with perhaps an option to get him permanently, there’s little risk to this deal and Celtic should gamble on him despite his recent fitness concerns.

At the end of the day, Celtic don’t have long left to get a deal done and they really need a right-back to arrive.

Likely to happen?

Yes, based on this update.

Murphy is a reliable source of information and he seems confident that Toljan is Celtic-bound despite training with Dortmund on transfer deadline day.

Celtic are working against the clock to get a deal done, so you feel the only reason they may fail to secure the right-sided flyer’s services, are if they run out of time to get him over the line.

Or if the player for some reason is against the move, but that seems unlike as he needs playing time.
