OPINION

Leeds United were condemned to a much-deserved 2-1 defeat at the hands of Stoke City on Saturday, and it is safe to say that it was not their best performance of the season.

However, one player who is putting their future with the Whites at risk is on-loan winger Jack Harrison.

There have been too many times this term where he has been thoroughly underwhelming and woeful, and although he pops up with the odd game where he is impressive, most of the time he has been painful to watch.

That was no different in this loss to Nathan Jones’ side, and if he continues to play so poorly, he is not doing his chances of staying at Elland Road beyond the end of his loan spell any justice.

Why on earth would Marcelo Bielsa want to keep a player like Harrison on if he continues to hamper their chances instead of improve them?

The 22-year-old was anonymous against Stoke, and this is simply not good enough for a team who are one of the favourites for Premier League promotion this year.

Bielsa is no doubt readying the axe on Harrison as that is the best option to take as , the player is clearly trying to make a big impression and failing to do so.

Harrison failed to stop Stoke’s full-backs in their tracks and had no final delivery whatsoever, so the decision to drop him should be a no-brainer really.

How many chances should he be given by Bielsa before the manager finally starts to lose patience with him?

If the first teamer wants the Whites to sign him on a permanent basis come the summer or to avoid the axe in the near future, he must step up as soon as possible.

He must start playing out of his skin – otherwise he will be subjected to the fringes when he potentially returns to parent club Manchester City, who are unlikely to utilise him.

Over to you, Bielsa.
