Leeds United are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table after their 2-1 win over Rotherham on Saturday, and there is one player who should take a bit of credit.

That player is Adam Forshaw, who despite having a mare of a few weeks with some shockingly bad performances, seemed like a transformed player at the New York Stadium.

His number of impressive performances do not outweigh the number of woeful ones he has to his name, but it is safe to say that he really turned a corner with this performance, turning a few heads in the process.

He was assured throughout, his passing was excellent, and he made life rather difficult for the Rotherham attack for the whole afternoon.

One thing is for sure, the 27-year-old midfielder is certainly one of the most polarising players on the books, and half of the time, Marcelo Bielsa probably does not know what to think.

Considering that the Whites are only one point clear at the top of the table, Bielsa cannot afford for his players to be making easily-avoidable mistakes like Forshaw has done recently.

He needs players who can help him, not players who are likely to hinder his efforts of gaining promotion to the Premier League – but if he performs like he did on Saturday for the remainder of the season, then Leeds will be even closer to achieving their sole aim.

Forshaw provided an option for his teammates when they were under pressure, and to have player like that can often be an invaluable effort towards the result.

He clearly has showed a sign of improvement since the Stoke game last weekend, and this is something that Bielsa and the fans no doubt recognised.

Forshaw is a quality player when he wants to be, and for now, he is simply undroppable for Bielsa.
