It is become a weekly ritual for Celtic fans to flock to Twitter and rave about centre-back Filip Benkovic, who put in another positive display on Saturday in their 5-1 win against Kilmarnock. The Croatia youth international has been nothing short of exceptional for the Hoops since his loan move from Leicester in the summer, and that was no different against temporary league leaders Killie, despite him conceding a penalty in the second half. The 21-year-old colossus is so assured on the ball and in the tackle, and makes defending look so effortless and easy. His form has unsurprisingly led to suggestions that Leicester will look to recall him early from his loan deal in January, and it would be a huge blow for Celtic were that to happen. Obviously the Hoops cannot worry too much about such a situation, but they will be dearly hoping to keep Benkovic until the summer at the very least. Some fans are already calling for the club to try and snap him up on a permanent deal, but it would surely take an astronomical fee for that to happen at this point.
