OPINION
Callum McGregor has made himself the name in every Celtic fan’s lips in recent weeks with a run of brilliant displays. While captain Scott Brown has been out injured the 25-year-old has made the centre of the Hoops’ midfield his own, and has looked every inch the ideal replacement. So good was his performance in Celtic’s 5-1 dismantlement of Kilmarnock on Saturday, it’s hard to see a way for Brown to walk straight back into the side. In a match in which the Bhoys needed to pull out all the stops to keep pace with their title rivals they made a huge statement of intent and reminded any doubters just why they are the dominant side north of the border. At the heart of it all was McGregor who, in a game full of standout performers, was the most noticeable player on the pitch by a country mile. Hoops fans should be very excited by his progression in recent times, and could be in for a real treat if he can keep things up for the remainder of the season.
