Towards the beginning of the season Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United side looked to be an irresistible force, dismantling teams at will with a sophisticated brand of high intensity attacking football.

Recently, however, they have been found out somewhat, with a series of underwhelming results culminating in a 4-1 humiliation at the hands of fellow title contenders West Brom just over a fortnight ago.

For all of their talent, United are occasionally guilty of lacking goals and creativity, and if they are to sweep the Championship in the manner they threatened to at the beginning of the season then they must look to make a statement signing in January.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley Dack would represent the ideal candidate for Bielsa’s side. An irrepressible goalscorer, with eight in 14 Championship matches this campaign, the former Gillingham man has scored goals wherever he has played, and there is no reason to believe that he wouldn’t at Elland Road.

Beyond that, Dack has fully earned a crack at the Premier League, and if he were to fire Leeds to promotion could prove to be a sound investment that would negate the need for a high profile midfield signing in the summer.

He’s not going to stay hidden for long though – Asked whether he could be a Premier League player, Paul Merson said recently on Sky Sports News (14:45, 10/11): “All day long. 100 percent, he’s a good player.

With Lewis Baker and Izzy Brown not set to return to Chelsea at the end of the season, Leeds must look to add depth in central attacking roles, and Dack would provide the perfect statement of intent for a team with their heart on a return to the big time.
