Three senior Bristol City players could be in the mix to make comebacks in Saturday’s Championship clash against Leeds United, according to Bristol Live.

The Reach site claim long-term absentees Bailey Wright, Mohamed Eisa and Hakeeb Adelakun may be in contention to feature at Elland Road after long-term injury lay-offs.

Centre-back Wright is yet to play this season but made his return from a long-term thigh injury for the Under-23s in midweek.

OPINION

Following a run of three consecutive defeats, it would be a huge boost for long-serving manager Lee Johnson to be able to call upon Australia international Wright, who has not played competitively since April. The defender is a proven performer at Championship and League One level and is likely to be back in the squad if he emerges unscathed from his midweek run-out. The possible availabilities of exciting winger Adelakun, who has yet to play for City after his summer move from Scunthorpe due to an ankle injury that required surgery, and centre-forward Eisa, who has been limited to just four appearances since joining from Cheltenham Town, is a timely and much-needed boost for the Robins. They have punched above their weight for years, partly due to Johnson’s excellent leadership, but that task has been mighty tough in such a brutal division without senior players. Wright, 26, Adelakun, 22, and Eisa, 24, could all make a big impact in the coming months, starting with Saturday’s showdown.
