Leeds United are set to make a raft of changes for Saturday’s Championship showdown against Blackburn Rovers as they welcome back a number of fit-again stars.

Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Gaetano Berardi are likely to be pitched straight back into the United starting XI after absences of between six and eight weeks.

Marcelo Bielsa revealed at his media conference on Thursday that the key trio are all fit and available for selection.

They are set to come in for the injured Jack Harrison, striker Tyler Roberts and utility man Stuart Dallas.

The fourth change is likely to see academy product Jamie Shackleton get the nod to start at right-back in the absence of the suspended Luke Ayling.

Perhaps the most contentious decision would be for Bielsa to select 19-year-old Shackleton, who played at right-back for the Under-23s in front of the watching Bielsa last Friday, ahead of Dallas.

The Northern Ireland international, 27, was in the line-up for the 1-1 draw against Brentford before the international break although he was subbed with 20 minutes remaining as Leeds searched for a late equaliser that eventually came from Pontus Jansson.

The Swede is a doubt for the match as he awaits the birth of his first child, and Bielsa admitted he did not know if his key defender would make it.

That would necessitate another reshuffled in the Leeds back line, with the Rovers match scheduled for a 12pm kick-off on Saturday.
