A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their sadness that midfielder Eunan O’Kane is out for the rest of the season after he sustained a serious injury starring for Luton Town on Saturday.
The 28-year-old Leeds player is currently on loan with the Hatters in January, but he has now been condemned to the sidelines for the rest of the campaign after Luton Town confirmed on their club website that he suffered a double leg fracture in the game against Bristol Rovers.
Eunan O’Kane’s injury as serious as was feared – suffered a double leg fracture (tibia and fibula) in Luton’s game against Bristol Rovers yesterday. Undergoing surgery in Luton today and will miss the rest of season. #lufc

OPINION
It is clear to see that the Leeds faithful are gutted that O’Kane has suffered such a serious injury, even if he is on loan at Luton Town. Most of the time, it is nice to see players do well whilst on loan, but that will now not be the case now he will miss the rest of the campaign. It is hard not to feel for him, as it will now feel like a very long time before he is back in action once again. As the fans say, fingers crossed that he makes a speedy recovery from this dreadful injury. One of the worst things about being out for the season is that a place in the first team may be compromised as a result – and this will be likely to happen when he eventually recovers. Luton Town will certainly miss his absence in their midfield – but unfortunately for them, he will not be playing for them again any time soon.
