Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is set to pursue a loan deal for Lille attacker Fares Bahlouli, according to French journalist Manu Lonjon.

Lonjon, who works for Yahoo Sports, reported on his personal Twitter account on Friday that Bielsa is eyeing a deal for the 23-year-old France youth international.

Bielsa previously managed Bahlouli during his time in charge of the Ligue 1 club.

Good move for Leeds United?

Yes.

Bahlouli is an up-and-coming young talent in France and would be a good addition to a Leeds attack that could do with an extra body in before the close of the window.

Naturally a right-footed attacking midfielder, Bahlouli can also play on either wing or up front, and that versatility will come in handy for Bielsa as the season progresses.

While his numbers are not too impressive, with just one goal and one assist in 14 matches last season, Bielsa clearly rates Bahlouli, and feels he would be a solid addition for the Whites.

Likely to happen?

There is no mention of how advanced Leeds are in their pursuit of Bahlouli, and it does not look like they have submitted a bid or registered their interest as of yet.

The club have until the end of the month to do so but should get in there as soon as possible if they want to successfully bring Bahlouli in, with Lille possibly needing time to replace him.
