Leeds United have got off to a flying start under new boss Marcelo Bielsa with a 4-1 away win over Derby County giving them two wins from their two games in the Championship so far.

The nature of their win over the Rams was hugely impressive, with Bielsa’s men comprehensively taking the game away from their opponents with a brilliant second-half performance.

Striker Kemar Roofe put in a man-of-the-match performance up front for Leeds, scoring two well-taken goals, with Gjanni Alioski and Mateusz Klich also getting on the scoresheet.

And it is the breathtaking transformation of Poland international Klich that has caught the eye most in the Whites’ opening two matches, with the 28-year-old putting in two wonderful displays in the middle of the park.

Looking back to last season when Klich was cast out by former boss Thomas Christiansen despite being his first signing at the club, you would never have guessed this was the same player.

The Polish midfielder ended up spending six months on loan in the Netherlands with FC Utrecht, and many were predicting that his Leeds career would be over this summer.

Bielsa has however recognised his obvious talent and transformed him into a key player for Leeds from the off, and that is a mightily impressive feat from the Argentine mastermind.

Klich was everywhere against Derby, contributing both in defence and going forward, and his opening goal was a thing of beauty as well.

If he continues this form then there is no reason why he can not help spearhead a charge for promotion for the Whites this season, and what an achievement that would be considering his plight in 2017/18.

Apart from the positive results, this transformation is the first real sign of Bielsa’s ideals really taking hold at Leeds, and things are looking up for the Whites as the new campaign takes early shape.
