Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino must look to offload Fernando Llorente this summer after the forward’s agent revealed that he will not be signing a new contract when his current agreement expires next year.

Llorente, 33, signed a two-year deal with Spurs when he joined from Swansea in 2017, and he is now in the final 12 months of that agreement and could leave North London for free unless he is not sold by the end of the current transfer window.

And it seems that may be the case, as Llorente’s agent and brother Chus Llorente has revealed to CalcioNapoli24 that the Spanish forward will not look to sign a new deal with Spurs,

“We absolutely won’t renew with Tottenham,” Fernando Llorente’s agent said.

With these quotes in mind, Pochettino must look to cash in on Llorente while he can.

According to statistics website Spotrac, the former Juventus man is earning a massive £75,000-a-week on his deal at Spurs and rather than wasting a years’ worth of wages, they should look to get rid now and maybe pick up a small fee in the process.

It helps that Llorente was pretty hopeless for Spurs last season.

He scored just five goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club – with three of them coming against Rochdale in the League Cup.

Pochettino needs a much more prolific back-up option to Harry Kane and cashing in on Llorente would fee up a spot in his squad and some wages to go out and find an improvement who actually wants to be at the club.
