Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Lewis Grabban, as the forward has signed a four-year deal at the City Ground, the club has confirmed.

Aitor Karanka’s unit released the news today (Friday) on their official Twitter account, as the former Bournemouth man arrives for an undisclosed fee.

Grabban, 30, joins Forest from Bournemouth after a successful loan spell to fellow Championship side Aston Villa at the end of last season.

The striker netted eight times for Steve Bruce’s Villains, and almost earned promotion to the Premier League before losing in the playoff final.

OPINION

This is a great signing by Karanka, and Forest all of a sudden are looking a massive threat in the Championship next season. Last season alone Grabban managed 20 Championship goals spread over two separate loan stints, and it is this natural goal threat that Forest has been calling out for. The aggressive transfer business being conducted at the City Ground stands as a dire warning ahead of next season, and Karanka, who has promotion experience on his CV, will certainly be eyeing the same feat once again. Forest fans must be excited about the prospect of the Winger joining the Reds, as it is clear what dynamic he will bring. The 30-year-old, despite his age, is frighteningly fast and possesses good ball skills that make defenders commit to a challenge. This will be a good addition to Forest’s front line, and the prospect of Karanka’s team climbing up the Championship table is suddenly a realistic proposition. These are exciting times as far as Forest fans are concerned.
