Tottenham are interested in signing Croatia international Ante Rebic from German club Eintracht Frankfurt, according to SportBild.

The German publication, as translated via Sport Witness, claim that Spurs have reignited their interest in the 24-year-old after monitoring him in the past.

It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are keen on the attacker, but it could be a slow process in trying to bring him to North London given he is on international duty at the World Cup.

The report details that Frankfurt would demand around £26.3million for his signature and that Premier League outfit Huddersfield are also keen on him.

Good move for Spurs?

Rebic has just enjoyed a decent season in Germany with Frankfurt, where he managed nine goals and three assists in 28 appearances.

The Croatian has been a winger during most of his career, but also demonstrated his versatility by being pushed into a more central position in the Bundesliga.

He earned a start for his nation in the 2-0 win over Nigeria in a World Cup group match and showed glimpses of his quality with some nice dribbles, but his no-nonsense approach was also on show.

Rebic has earned 20 yellow cards in his 56 appearances for Frankfurt and that is something Mauricio Pochettino would have to bare in mind if Spurs moved for his signature.

Likely to happen?

Rebic has previously been on the Spurs radar, but it would be a surprise to see them splash out a huge eight-figure fee for him.

The likes of Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura are already competing for a starting position in a very competitive squad.
