Leeds United must sign defender Andreas Bjelland this summer after it was confirmed that he is available for a free transfer by Brentford.
The London club announced via their official Twitter account on Saturday that Bjelland, 29, has left Griffin Park after failing to agree a new contract – and Leeds should move as soon as possible because the Denmark international is perfect for Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

Bjelland has been a very solid, consistent performer for Brentford over the last three seasons and will definitely help Leeds in their quest to return to the Premier League.
The 6ft 2in tall (transfermarkt) powerhouse made 35 appearances across all competitions last term as Dean Smith’s side challenged to finish in a play-off spot and given the shortage of centre-backs at Elland Road, he should be high on Bielsa’s wishlist for the coming weeks.
Leeds only have Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper as senior centre-back options and really need to add to that area of the squad as soon as possible.
They also seem intent on piling money into improving the attacking area of the squad first with the Daily Mail reporting that a £12million bid has been tabled for Derby forward Matej Vydra.
Although it’s not clear just how much money Bielsa has to spend, he may have to find a cheap option to bolster his backline, and free agent Bjelland is definitely the perfect answer to this possible issue.
