Arsenal manager Unai Emery is “in love” with Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vazquez’s style of play, and is interested in bringing him to the Emirates this summer, according to Marca.

It is understood that a number of clubs are interested in the 26-year-old attacker, and Arsenal will face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea.

Emery is thought to be enthralled by Lucas’s consistent and direct attacking play, which last season produced eight goals and 16 assists across all competitions in Madrid.

Good move for Arsenal?

Absolutely.

Lucas Vazquez is one of the most exciting prospects in world football at the moment, and he would fit in sensationally at Arsenal.

Obtaining the Spaniard at such a young age would also be beneficial for the club, as the forward can continue in his development with some premium attackers around him.

The level of European experience that Vazquez possesses will also help the Gunners, should they want to progress in the Europa League this season.

Likely to happen?

In a word, no.

Vazquez is protected in Madrid by a lucrative release clause that Arsenal are unlikely willing to trigger at this moment.

The Spain international is also happy at Madrid, where he can earn first-team minutes as well as meaningful European competition in the Champions League.

Given all the competition for the forward, this one does not seem likely at all, and Emery will have to consider other options moving forward.
