Leeds United signed off another Championship season with a 2-0 win over QPR and have ended up 13th in the league standings.

The Yorkshire giants scored through Kemar Roofe and Kalvin Phillips to earn three points, but overall it has been a mediocre campaign where fans were left disappointed with a failure to secure promotion.

However, attention can now begin to turn towards next year and one man that must be at the heart of the side is midfielder Ronaldo Vieira.

QPR manager Ian Holloway described him as “different class” for his performance against his side, as cited by Leeds Live.

Receiving huge praise from a rival manager shows the impact he can have on matches and Leeds need to ensure he is a key figure in the 2018/19 campaign.

Vieira has endured a mixed season that has been disrupted by injuries at times and has made just 31 appearances across all competitions.

The no-nonsense central midfielder has not been able to find any rhythm in his game and the Whites need to try ensure he is the first name on the team sheet next year.

He has an excellent work-rate that can set the tone for his team and Leeds need to try build around him for the foreseeable future.

Vieira has shown in patches he can help run the show in the midfield and the partnership with Adam Forshaw should be allowed to blossom next year.
