Leeds United ended the season on a high note with a 2-0 win over QPR at Elland Road on Sunday, and fans have taken to Twitter to praise the display of goalscorer Kemar Roofe.

The forward was named as part of a rapid front three alongside Caleb Ekuban and Gjanni Alioski for the Whites, who were looking for their just their fourth win under Paul Heckingbottom.

It was the 25-year-old Roofe who opened the scoring for the Whites after half an hour, hooking home a lovely volley after a header came in from a corner.

That goal took Heckingbottom’s men into the break at 1-0 up, and Kalvin Phillips then doubled their lead just two minutes after the restart with a tidy left-footed finish following a poor QPR clearance.

Leeds were then able to see out the win with a convincing second-half performance, with Roofe going close for his second before feeding Alioski who should have done better.

Roofe was then subbed off after 73 minutes, with young striker Ryan Edmondson making his debut for the Whites.

Fans have now taken to Twitter to praise the performance of Roofe, who netted his 14th goal of the season in all competitions against the R’s.
