Premier League club Bournemouth have tabled an offer for Leeds United defender Tom Pearce, according to Sun reporter Alan Nixon.

The reliable journalist claimed on his personal Twitter account on Sunday that the Cherries have launched a bid to sign Pearce, 20, even though he has agreed terms to a new deal at Elland Road.

Everton are also said to be interested in the left-back, but are not in the position to counter Bournemouth’s offer at this stage.

Good move for Leeds?

Leeds should look to rebuff any moves for Pearce with him now reported to have agreed a new deal at Elland Road.

The left-back is currently away on international duty with England Under-20s at the Toulon Tournament in France, which is major proof of just how far he has come this season.

Although his appearances were limited at the back end of he campaign, Pearce is a star in the making and can be a really good successor to Charlie Taylor at left-back.

Likely to happen?

It’s hard to see how Pearce could sign a new deal and then leave for a club he will become a fringe player at.

Everton would be a more exciting proposition for the left-back if he was to move to the Premier League as Bournemouth could quickly become a team that starts to fall backwards and ends up back in the Championship.

Leeds will probably look to reject any offers anyway.
