Arthur Masuaku played 86 minutes in the defeat to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon – and West Ham fans on Twitter annihilated him for his performance.

The left wing-back received a barrage of criticism after his side suffered a 4-1 away loss at the Emirates Stadium.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger announced he will leave the club at the end of the season and his inspired team reacted by earning three points.

Nacho Monreal opened the scoring early in the second-half for the hosts, but Marko Arnautovic levelled for West Ham with a powerful left-footed effort inside the penalty area.

Arsenal managed to press home their superiority in the closing stages with goals through Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette (two) score in the final 10 minutes.

The result means that David Moyes’ side are not quite yet outside of relegation trouble, but do have a healthy six-point lead over the drop zone with four games remaining.

West Ham fans on social media decided to single out defender Masuaku for major criticism and feel he was one of the worst players on the pitch.

One supporter suggested that he was Championship standard and another branded him a “liability”.
