Rangers fell to a devastating 3-2 loss to bitter rivals Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday, and fans have taken to Twitter to destroy the performance of substitute centre-back Fabio Cardoso.

Josh Windass had given Rangers an early lead when Dedryck Boyata gifted him the ball and he raced through before slamming past stand-in goalkeeper Scott Bain.

Rangers’ lead did not last long however as Tom Rogic curled a beautiful effort past Wes Foderingham to level things up just eight minutes later.

Daniel Candeias managed to restore Gers’ lead with a thunderous half-volley, but Moussa Dembele ensured Celtic headed into the break on level terms when he dinked home from Scott Brown’s long ball.

Rangers were handed a massive chance around the hour mark when Jozo Simunovic was sent off for an elbow on Alfredo Morelos, but it was instead Celtic who took the lead for the first time in the match.

Substitute striker Odsonne Edouard was allowed to advance down the left before cutting inside and finishing well to steal the three points for the Hoops.

Cardoso was introduced early on when David Bates was injured during the build up to Celtic’s opener, and the Portuguese showed exactly why he has not played for the Light Blues in over a month.

Fans took to Twitter after the match to slam the 23-year-old for his dodgy performance, and not many held back with their criticism.
