Leeds United fans on social media heavily criticised Vurnon Anita for his performance during the heavy defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday.
Tony Pulis’ side defeated Leeds 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium on Friday, with Patrick Bamford getting a hat-trick in the game.
Leeds fans were unhappy with several players’ displays, but a large majority singled out Anita for criticism.
The 28-year-old started the game playing as a left-back but after being constantly exposed, switched to play as a right-back in the second half.
However changing position didn’t improve Anita’s performance in the game, and it just had supporters criticising him more as he failed to perform in another position.
One fan tweeted that the 28-year-old can’t play as a full-back on either flank nor can he play as a central midfielder, and questioned why the Whites employed him.
While another supporter revealed that they thought Anita had been a passenger in the game, alongside his teammates Felix Wiedwald and Eunan O’Kane.
Anita has made 18 appearances this season, with 14 of them coming in the league.
However, based on his display on Friday, fans will be hoping Paul Heckingbottom doesn’t play him against Wolves on Wednesday.
