OPINION

Celtic came up against a determined and dogged performance from ten-man Motherwell in a 0-0 draw at Fir Park in the Premiership on Sunday, and there were plenty of talking points to take from the game.

The Hoops made the short trip south knowing that a win would extend their lead at the top of the table to 12 points after Rangers lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock on Saturday, but it was however not to be.

Both sides created chances in the first-half, with the Hoops going closest through Tom Rogic and James Forrest, while Motherwell managed to test Scott Bain on a couple of occasions.

The big talking point of the first-half was Motherwell going down to ten men after Cedric Kipre kicked out at Scott Brown following an altercation on the floor, the second time the defender has seen red against the Hoops this season.

Celtic pressed well in the second-half as they looked to make the most of their advantage, but wasted several brilliant chances to go ahead, with Moussa Dembele the culprit on two occasions.

Patrick Roberts also hit the bar with a rasping shot before Scott Sinclair messed up a clear opportunity when his shot was blocked while through down the left.

This is Futbol have picked out three things we learned about Celtic during the draw, including one player that Brendan Rodgers needs to tie down this summer.
