Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has waxed lyrical about Tottenham ace Harry Kane as he prepares his side to face the Premier League’s top scorer.

Spurs host the Terriers on Saturday in a league fixture and will be looking to consolidate their position in the top four of the table.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield are 14th in the standings and have just a three-point cushion above the relegation places.

Manager Wagner revealed that he thinks Spurs centre-forward Harry Kane is the best striker in Europe ahead of the weekend’s fixture at Wembley.

The 24-year-old has already netted 35 times across all competitions this season, with 24 of them coming in the Premier League.

“At the moment I think he is [the best in Europe]. He is a fantastic striker. Unfortunately not in our team but he is in a fantastic team,” Wagner said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“This is one of the reasons why the Premier League is so exciting is that there are players like him.

“You can really test yourself against the best ones but it is not just him there are a handful of other great individuals.”

Kane was given a full rest on Wednesday night in the 6-1 FA Cup win over Rochdale and should be ready to fire at the weekend. The England international has enjoyed a successful season to date and scored twice in the reverse fixture against Huddersfield against in September. The North London club are firm favourites to secure three points over the Terries and could stretch their advantage over fifth-placed Chelsea as they face leaders Manchester City.  Spurs may also have one eye on next week’s Champions League showdown with Juventus and will want to go into the match with full confidence.
