Spurs player ratings v Crystal Palace

|

Goalkeeper and defenders

Hugo Lloris – 6 – Had a quiet day at the office but nearly made an embarrassing mistake. Lloris almost ended up  handling the ball outside the box as he misjudged the pace Christian Benteke had placed on it. However luckily for him, he managed to keep his feet just inside the box, before going back to having not much to do.

Serge Aurier – 6 – The defender was solid but it was shocking to see the player get deemed to have made a foul throw, three times. As Aurier arguably plays at one of the best Premier League teams, he shouldn’t be making such careless unenforced errors. The centre-back got a vital touch on the ball midway through the second half to deny Palace a clear chance on goal. However, Aurier then proceeded to miss a sitter in the 83rd minute.

Davinson Sanchez – 8- Solid. The centre-back often found himself as the only defender back as his teammates pushed forward, and took the responsibility in his stride.

Eric Dier – 4- Made a costly mistake in the 16th minute that gave Crystal Palace a golden opportunity to take the lead. Dier always looked comfortable when on the ball, but anytime that he was found by himself at the back, you worried about the opposition scoring.

Ben Davies – 4- Got caught too far up the pitch, once too many times in the first half and Mousa Dembele didn’t have pace to cover for the left-back. Davies’ adventures forward would have been excused if they actually led to him creating an opportunity for his side, but that didn’t.
