Leeds United travel to Derby County on Wednesday night – and the club’s supporters on Twitter have urged manager Paul Heckingbottom to promote Bailey Peacock-Farrell to the starting XI.

The Whites visit Derby for a Championship clash and are quickly approaching must-win territory if they are to close the eight-point gap to the play-offs before the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the Rams are currently fourth in the league standings and are firmly in the promotion picture.

Leeds managed to record a 2-2 draw against Bristol City at the weekend despite being two goals down, but it was another disappointing afternoon for goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.

The 27-year-old has become the first-choice option in goal at Elland Road, but he played a major hand in a Bristol City’s opening goal as he failed with his clearance from a long throw-in.

Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan have jostled for the number one shirt this season, but fans on social media are convinced they should both be out of contention.

Leeds fans have suggested that young goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell should come into contention and have urged the manager to start against Derby.

The 21-year-old is a highly-rated talent from their academy, but has only featured once at senior level and that was back in the 2015/16 Championship season.

It would certainly be a very bold move for Heckingbottom to make and supporters insist it would be the right one to give Peacock-Farrell a shock start.
