Jay-Roy Grot completed 78 minutes for Leeds’ Under-23s side against Nottingham Forest on Friday afternoon – and the club’s supporters ripped into him on Twitter for his performance.

The Whites ran out comfortable 5-1 winners in the youth clash, but the centre-forward was unable to grab himself a goal as he earned some vital minutes on the pitch.

Grot has been unable to make a serious impression on the senior team since his summer arrival and failed to score in 16 appearances for the Yorkshire.

The 19-year-old Dutchman was given a runout for the Under-23s team and will hope he managed to catch the eye of new senior manager Paul Heckingbottom as he looks to make a fresh start.

He is a colossal attacker that showed big potential last season in Holland and is yet to quite replicate his best form in England.

Leeds travel to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon for a pivotal Championship match and it seems very unlikely that Grot would be involved after his action on Friday.

The striker will hope to force his way back into the fold and compete alongside the likes of Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe for a starting position.

Leeds fans on social media feel it should be a long time before Grot is back in the first team and feel he even struggled to make a serious impression at youth level.
