Jamie Redknapp has raved about Tottenham trio Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Harry Kane for their performances in the win over Arsenal at the weekend.

Spurs recorded a 1-0 victory against their North London rivals at the weekend and prolific centre-forward Kane netted his 32nd goal of the season across all competitions.

They have now taken great momentum into their midweek clash against Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Redknapp has decided to highlight three powerhouses in the Spurs team that guided them to three points against the Gunners.

Centre-back Vertonghen has become a colossal figure in the heart of defence, while in-form midfielder Dembele is another player that is very difficult to disposes.

Redknapp has raves about three of Spurs’ key players and feels they helped steamroll a weak Arsenal side.

“When I played in the north London derby, what always struck me was the power Arsenal possessed,” Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail. ”Now it is Tottenham who pack a punch.

“They have powerful players all over the pitch: Jan Vertonghen in defence, Mousa Dembele in the midfield engine and Harry Kane up front. Just look at his hunger and desire to outjump Arsenal’s defenders to head in the winning goal.”

OPINION

Spurs do have some very strong presences in their team and that is always crucial when competing at the top level. Vertonghen has been a rock in the Spurs backline this campaign and his performances have even improved during the absence of usual centre-back partner, who has been sidelined with injury. Meanwhile, central midfielder Dembele has rediscovered his top form in 2018 and has already stood out in crunch games with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United. Kane is another powerful player at Mauricio Pochettino’s disposal and the all-round striker really has no obvious weakness to his game. He is prepared to get involved in physical battles with defenders if he needs too and continues light up the Premier League.
