Harry Kane has claimed that he would love to replicate Roma legend Francesco Totti and that is something that will surely leave Tottenham fans ecstatic.

Kane has developed into a superstar at Spurs in recent years and has already scored 32 goals in 33 games across all competitions this season.

The prolific centre-forward is regarded as the talisman for the north London club, but there are concerns from supporters that his future could lie elsewhere if he fails to win silverware in England.

However, Kane has made an encouraging statement in the build-up to the Champions League clash against Juventus on Tuesday night and Spurs supporters will feel a little better about his long-term future.

The Englishman has stated he would love to follow in the footsteps of Italian attacker Totti, who has gone down as Roma’s greatest ever player.

The 41-year-old officially retired last summer, but spent his entire career with the Serie A club and scored 307 goals in 786 appearances for them.

“He’s (Totti) a fantastic player. To spend your career at one club and he achieved pretty much everything he wanted to there. I want to hopefully achieve something like that,” Kane said, as quoted by Football London.

OPINION

Spurs fans can only hope that Kane will stay with them over the next decade and he could go down as a true great if he continues on the same path. The striker will clearly be desperate to win trophies with Pochettino’s side and it’s up to them to find a team that match his desire. He has been incredibly consistent in the last couple of years and if anything is improving even further this season. Kane has now scored 131 senior goals for Spurs and could break all types of scoring records if he stays. He will hope to do the business on Europe’s elite stage in the upcoming Champions League clash with Juventus, where he can test himself against some world-class defenders.
