David Prutton has predicted that Leeds Untied will draw when they travel to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon in the Championship.

Paul Heckingbottom will take charge of his first game since being appointed Whites boss and taking the role over from Thomas Christiansen.

Leeds go into the clash on the back of a 4-1 hammering against Cardiff and are currently 10th in the league table, meaning they are seven points adrift of the play-off positions.

Meanwhile, the Blades were beaten 3-0 by Wolves recently and are eighth in the league, just two points above their upcoming opponents.

Sheffield United won the previous Yorkshire clash with the Whites this season as they prevailed 2-1 winners at Elland Road.

Sky Sports pundit Prutton has tipped a 2-2 scoreline between the two teams at the weekend as they both look to get back into the promotion mix.

“This is a massive test for Paul Heckingbottom!” Prutton told Sky Sports. “It’s quite the move he’s made from Barnsley to Leeds for more than one reason and he’ll be under the microscope right away at Bramall Lane.

“When these two sides met in October they were both right in the mix for automatic promotion, and Sheffield United even went top after they won at Elland Road!

“But both have drifted away from the play-offs now and will be desperate for a win. It will be a good, open game, and I think it will be a draw.”

OPINION

Leeds have the perfect opportunity to reignite their season if they pick up three points on Saturday and would overtake Sheffield United in the process. However, the Whites have been in poor form recently and do remain without key players due to suspensions. Heckingbottom will be hoping for a response during his first game in charge and quite often players react to a new man at the helm. Leeds are entering a pivotal run of games in the next few weeks that will define their season and they simply must start closing the gap to the play-offs if they harbour any realistic aims of making Wembley.
