Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted Leeds United to draw when they host Cardiff City on Saturday in the Championship.

The Whites welcome the Welsh club to Elland Road for a highly anticpated league fixtures as both clubs have their eyes on promotion this season.

Thomas Christiansen’s outfit have plenty of work to do in the second half of the season as his team are currently 10th in the Championship, with a four-point cushion separating them and the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Cardiff are currently fourth under manager Neil Warnock and are still in the hunt for an automatic spot.

Merson has tipped a 1-1 scoreline between Leeds and Cardiff at the weekend in his Super Six predictions, as cited by Sky Sports.

OPINION

Leeds may go into this game as underdogs despite being at home and their form in 2018 has been nothing less than shocking. The Yorkshire giants need a big win to get their promotion bid back on track and three points at the weekend would be an excellent start. Leeds suffered a 3-1 loss away to Cardiff in the league clash between the sides earlier in the season, with striker Kenneth Zohore scoring twice in that game. Christiansen’s side need to try use the Elland Road faithful to inspire them to a win despite having a depleted squad due to injuries and suspensions.
