Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen should consider signing another midfielder in the January window following the loan exit of Mateusz Klich to Dutch side Fc Utrecht.

The Whites currently face a shortage of options in the centre of the park, with both Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane sidelined through suspensions.

That leaves Ronaldo Vieira and January recruit Adam Forshaw as their options, but the Yorkshire giants seem a little thin on the ground and another body to aid their promotion hunt would be a big boost.

News outlet HITC report that Championship trio Sunderland, Derby and Norwich are all interested in a loan deal for West Brom midfielder Sam Field.

It is understood that the in-demand Premier League star is attracting a lot of interest and it’s unclear on whether Baggies manager Alan Pardew would sanction a temporary exit in January.

The England Under-20 international is a highly-rated central midfielder at the Hawthorns and Leeds should join the race to try sign him this month.

Field has come through the academy at West Brom and become a regular feature in the first team this season.

The central midfielder has made seven senior appearances this campaign and scored in the Premier League in a 2-2 draw against Newcastle.

He is a left-footed pass master that is renowned for being very technically gifted and sound in possession.

Field can offer a threat in the final third and he could force his way into the Leeds starting XI if he did complete a switch to Elland Road.

Christiansen’s side are three points adrift of the play-off positions and may be glad of the extra body if poor discipline is going to continue for the rest of the season.

Field would be a brilliant loan capture for any Championship side given his huge potential and could play a big role for Leeds in the second half of the campaign.
